Why We Built This Site
New Jersey uses different custodians for different parts of a criminal history. The arresting department keeps its report, Mercer Corrections holds county booking files, courts maintain charges and outcomes, and the New Jersey State Police connects fingerprint-based statewide history. The New Jersey Department of Corrections and New Jersey Sex Offender Internet Registry serve separate purposes. We organize official contacts, public portals, fees, and request steps without combining those systems into one database.
What You Will Find Here
- Record guides: how criminal court case records are searched and read in Mercer County
- Official check steps: how fingerprint personal-record requests work through the New Jersey State Police
- Agency contacts: where to reach Mercer offices, municipal departments, and statewide record systems
- Record relief: how New Jersey expungement begins through the Judiciary's electronic process
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a New Jersey court, sheriff, police department, or state agency. Its limits are clear:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every posted phone number, fee, or address remains current
Only the issuing sheriff, police department, court, corrections office, or New Jersey State Police can provide its official record. The document must come from that source.
Search Partners
Third-party providers operate search boxes that appear on some pages. They control their services, results, and prices. A paid signup may produce a referral fee that supports operation of this resource. We do not set partner charges or control the information a partner returns.
